It has been yet another summer of alarming temperatures, the aftermath of Hurricane Maria is still part of Puerto Rico’s daily reality, and news of dramatic wildfires in the west has people across the country and across the world wondering about their future.
This Changes Everything, a documentary film about our warming world by Avi Lewis, based on the book by Naomi Klein will be screened for free at: The Strand Theatre, in Rockland at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14.
Maine is already feeling the effects of climate change, and the future of our farms, forests, and fisheries is increasingly uncertain, say the film's promotors. Only major, equitable changes and collective action can solve the growing problems of our warming world, they asset. This Changes Everything encourages the hope that activism and democracy can bring about the societal and policy changes necessary to ensure our future well-being and stop the damage being done to our shared home.
This event is sponsored by The Island Institute, Mid-Coast Maine Indivisible, and the Natural Resources Council of Maine, and hosted by the Rockland Strand Theatre.
