Waypoints: Connect

Waypoints are defined as points that “indicate a change in direction, speed, or altitude.” Our Waypoints: Community Indicator series presents current data on the character along the coast and islands of Maine in a visually-appealing format to help leaders and stakeholders make data-driven decisions and tell compelling stories about their communities. The soon-to-be released, third installment in our Waypoints series, "Waypoints Connect: Infrastructure Indicators for Maine's Coast and Islands," explores the status of Maine’s coastal infrastructure systems, with a focus on the topics where we see local and state leaders grappling with change. We looked at data that are central to our physical, economic, and civic infrastructure to consider how coastal communities are connected to resources that help them thrive.
